Privacy Policy

Effective date: 10/15/2026

This website is run by Teddy Haugen, an independent fragrance brand consultant operating as a sole proprietorship ("I," "me," or "my"). This policy explains what personal information I collect through [yourdomain.com], how I use it, and the choices you have.

I keep this simple: I collect only what I need to respond to you and do my work, and I never sell your information.

Information I collect

Information you give me. When you request a consultation, I collect what you enter in the form:

  • Your name and email address

  • Your brand name, and your website or social media handle if you share it

  • Your business stage, investment range, and timing

  • Anything you tell me about your project

Newsletter signup. If you check the box to subscribe to Teddy Talks, I collect your email address to send you the newsletter.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, this site collects basic technical information when you visit, such as your browser type, device, approximate location (city or country level), the pages you view, and how you arrived at the site. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see below).

How I use your information

I use your information to:

  • Review your consultation request and decide whether we're a good fit

  • Contact you to schedule a call, send a proposal, and work together if we do

  • Send you Teddy Talks, if you subscribed

  • Understand how visitors use this site so I can improve it

  • Meet legal, tax, and recordkeeping obligations

I don't use your information for automated decision-making, and I don't add consultation inquiries to my newsletter unless you check the subscribe box.

Services that help me run this site

I rely on a few trusted service providers that process information on my behalf. They may only use it to provide their services to me.

  • Squarespace hosts this website and its forms. It handles form submissions, site analytics, and cookies.

  • Scheduling tools like Calendly may be used to book consultation calls. It handles your name, email, and booking details.

  • Google Workspace runs my business email. It handles the messages we exchange.

Each provider has its own privacy policy describing how it protects data.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses cookies, which are small files stored in your browser. Some are necessary for the site to work. Others help me understand traffic, such as which pages are visited most.

You can accept or decline non-essential cookies using the cookie banner, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may affect how the site works.

Sharing your information

I do not sell or rent your personal information, and I do not share it for advertising.

I share it only:

  • With the service providers listed above, so they can do their jobs

  • If required by law, such as a valid subpoena or court order

  • To protect my rights or safety, or someone else's

Your project details are confidential. I don't discuss them with anyone outside our working relationship without your permission.

How long I keep it, and how it's protected

  • Consultation requests that don't lead to a project: kept for up to [2 years], then deleted.

  • Client records: kept for as long as needed for our work and for tax and legal records, typically [7 years].

  • Newsletter subscribers: kept until you unsubscribe.

I use reputable providers with standard security protections and limit access to your information to myself and anyone working with me who needs it. No website is completely secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect what you share.

Your choices and rights

You can ask me at any time to:

  • See the personal information I hold about you

  • Correct anything that's inaccurate

  • Delete your information, unless I need to keep it for legal reasons

  • Stop sending you the newsletter (every issue also has an unsubscribe link)

To make a request, email me at the address below. I'll respond within 30 days and won't treat you differently for asking.

Depending on where you live, such as California or the European Union, you may have additional rights under local privacy laws. I'll honor those rights where they apply.

Children's privacy

This site is meant for businesses and adults. I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent me information, contact me and I'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy as my practice or the law changes. The effective date at the top shows when it was last revised.
